About Cottonwood Community School

Cottonwood Community School, located in the heart of Cottonwood, Arizona, serves around 450 students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The school provides a rigorous, research-based curriculum in reading, writing, math, and science, while also offering intervention and acceleration during the WIN (What I Need) class time. 

In addition to academics, CCS offers a variety of extracurricular programs, including art, theater, physical education, and life skills during the school day. After-school activities include athletics for grades 5-8, clubs for kindergarten through eighth grade, and agricultural programs featuring four gardens, chickens, ducks, and goats. Some of the most popular after-school clubs include Los Lobos Mariachi, mountain biking, permaculture, and archery. Since becoming an elementary school in 2017, CCS has earned numerous awards for its extracurricular efforts. 

The school takes pride in working closely with families, building strong relationships through family engagement activities like Hispanic Cultural Night and Title 1 reading and math intervention programs. CCS is also dedicated to fostering a culturally diverse community built on the PACK values of Perseverance, Achievement, Collaboration, and Kindness.
